How I plan my week holistically

An organised and intentional week means a successful week! And by success, I mean a week that feels the most nourishing and supportive.

This is going to look different for each of us, but here are a few things that I find really help me to feel my best during my weeks.

Also knowing that life is fluid and things might change or pop up, but if we can bring some level of structure and organisation to our weeks, it can really help to set a sturdy foundation for us, while leaving a little wriggle room for the universe to weave its magic

Use this as a little inspiration to create your own holistic and balanced week.

Whatever we give our time and energy to is going to flourish, so if we can make that ourselves and our families, it is really setting us up for a beautiful and healthy life.

1.

Conscious grocery shop

I do a big, healthy grocery shop for the week ahead, including anything that we haven’t got growing in our veggie garden. I will usually have an idea of what I’d like to cook during the week, plus our regular staples, and shop accordingly.

This will include things like organic fresh fruit and vegetables, organic tinned goods like crushed tomatoes, beans and pulses, and organic goods from the bulk store like nuts, seeds, and speciality flours.

Shopping in this way ensures that I am organised, intentional, limiting waste, and that I am nourishing myself as my highest priority.

2.

Food prepping

On the weekends I like to prepare a few meals and snacks for the week ahead. We still cook each day, but examples of things that I like to prep include making some homemade baked beans, falafels, healthy banana bread (because, delicious!), homemade crackers and hummus.

This again ensures that I am feeling prepared, nourished, and that I can also get extremely enjoyment and pleasure from the food that I am consuming, alongside it nourishing me from the inside out.

When you prioritise your wellbeing by being organised, you are much less likely to reach for any convenient “junky” foods that usually hold no nutritional value or life-force energy.

3.

Plan out professional and personal appointments

I plan out any personal appointments, client appointments, and classes for the week. Doing this ensures that I am feeling organised, that I am not over committing and cramming my schedule with too many commitments, which can lead to overwhelm. I also make sure that everything is booked in at a time that serves me best with my schedule.

Because I live out of town, I plan any face-to-face or in person classes or sessions to align with my personal appointments or shopping duties so that I am being time, energy and fuel efficient.

4.

Cycle awareness

I plan my week around where I am in my cycle. This is obviously fluid and changes each week. I track my cycle manually in my diary, so I know when I am in the follicular phase is when my energy will be higher and I’m more likely to include more work tasks, face to camera tasks, or any other tasks that might require more of my energy.

Conversely, during my luteal phase or during menstruation is the time when I will take things a little slower, perhaps drop into some more creative or writing tasks, and tasks that are a little more inward.

Let me know if any of these resonate with you, or what you do to plan a successful week for yourself!
